Engineering the Future

To give Albuquerque students a competitive advantage among their peers, APS transformed three neighborhood schools into Engineering the Future STEM schools. The free K-12 magnet pathway focuses on computer science and engineering- implementing the Engineering Habits of Mind, where students learn to think like engineers, and using the Design Process to create solutions to real world problems. Supported by a grant through the U.S. Department of Education, the pathway provides students with comprehensive hands-on training in coding, integrated science, technology, engineering and mathematics, with access to all the tools necessary to be successful in the rapidly changing STEM fields.

Robots and the Design process
How can I understand and design tasks for a robot hero?
The answer is that if we want capable, affordable robots to help us in the future, we need more people to develop such robots. That’s right. In the end, it all depends on you. The future of robotics is not going to happen; it’s going to be built. And you can be part of it."
