The Junior Science & Humanities Symposium is a national competition program designed to challenge and engage students in grades 9-12 in science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics (STEM). Individual students compete for scholarships and recognition by presenting the results of their original research efforts orally before a panel of judges and an audience of their peers. Opportunities for hands-on workshops, career panel discussions, research lab visits and/or networking are planned as part of the event. JSHS is a collaborative effort with the research arm of the Department of Defense, administered in cooperation with colleges/universities nationwide.
